I’m a Denver-based UX designer with a passion for human-centered problem solving. In all areas of my design process, I rely on my ability to think in systems; whether it’s drawing connections between user and business goals, synthesizing research and metrics to determine design directions, crafting complex prototypes, or designing scalable components, I work to understand and act upon the big-picture goals of each project.

With a degree in Creative Technology & Design along with a minor in Computer Science, I have a technical understanding of how designs are translated to code, allowing me to bridge the all too frequent gap between design and development. I believe that technology should empower rather than hinder people, so I enjoy working closely with users to explore and validate design solutions. I’m a collaborative, strategic, and analytical person who works best on results-driven teams that strive for tangible impact at any scale.

When I’m not designing, you can find me skiing, watching college basketball, jamming out to music, lifting weights at the gym, or marveling at the beautiful outdoors of Colorado.

Kind Words From My Peers and Mentors

While still a student at the University of Colorado Boulder, I worked for the university's Office of Information Technology as a UX Designer, unifying the student experience through the design of a homegrown student portal, Buff Portal, that serves more than 36,000 students per year. After graduation, I stayed on the UX team in a contract role to support the expansion of the team as a UX consulting service within the university. Here are some thoughts from the amazing people that I got the chance to work with:

“Kyra stands out from others for her ability to catch onto things like scope, the goals of the work, and subtle yet important things like politics around the work. She is always the first one to step up to take on something new and has proven time and time again that she can elegantly and quickly tackle anything that comes her way.”

She has a good eye for design details, and combined with her ability to collaborate well, she brings a sense of humor and a great work ethic. I highly recommend Kyra for any design or research position. She will be a valuable asset to any team.”

“I am impressed with how Kyra works within our large, fast-paced, and dynamic scrum team. As a part-time designer, Kyra worked on several UX design initiatives within the university, working collaboratively to accurately define and represent the experience of our users in the requirements of each story as her designs move from idea to development.”
